You will serve as an INTERDISCINPLINARY NATURAL RESOURCE SPECIALIST/ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/PHYSICAL SCIENTIST in the ENVIRONMENTAL DIVISION of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will manage various Navy environmental compliance programs for JEBLCFS.
You will conduct inspections of work-sites to determine environmental conditions, detect violations of published standards, and identify potential environmental problems.
You will coordinate and prepare modifications to installation specific air permits in conformance with regulatory requirements.
You will ensure installation compliance with current Federal and state RCRA, DoD, and Navy environmental regulations and policy by all generators and handlers of both regulated and non-regulated wastes.
You will monitor and implement the Hazardous Waste minimization program.
You will review technical product specifications for listed environmentally regulated chemicals and constituent information.
You will review periodic potable water analysis results and follow-ups on any discrepancies.
Requirements

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ensuring compliance with Federal and State RCRA, DoD, and/or Navy environmental regulations and policy. 2) Knowing how to coordinate a hazardous waste inspection program. 3) Ensuring the proper segregation of hazardous waste according to hazards class. 4) Monitor and implement a hazardous waste minimization program. 5) Implementing hazardous waste turn in procedures. 6) Developing and maintaining spreadsheets and databases that track hazardous waste streams generated, stored and disposed. 7) Prepare hazardous waste reports required for submission to Federal, state, local and/or Navy organizations.
