Serves as an Aviation Safety Assistant (Office Automation) for the Cascadia Certificate Management Office (CMO).

Duties

Incumbent serves as Aviation Safety Assistant for the Cascadia Certificate Management Office. Provides administrative and semi-technical support to the supervisor, or manager, Aviation Safety Inspectors, and Administrative Officer by utilizing advanced automation system tools relevant in the Safety Assurance System environment which includes, but is not limited to obtaining background data, preparing reports, reviewing applications, interviewing applicants, processing certificates, and maintaining technical and administrative files.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • This is not a remotely sited or virtual position.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FG-6 grade, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FG/GS-5 level. Specialized experience may include but is not limited to: performing a variety of administrative and clerical work, such as, assist in researching, writing and typing non-technical and routine correspondence; reviewing and distributing incoming correspondence; maintaining files; general office support; preparing reports; examining documents for accuracy and completeness; entering and retrieving information from a variety of automated systems.To qualify for this position at the FG-7 grade, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FG/GS-6 level. Specialized experience may include but not limited to: knowledge of agency directives and various agency policies governing technical programs; performing a variety of technical administrative work, such as, preparing complex reports; assisting in interpreting and implementing newly modified agency directives and determining action needed; managing records; providing tracking and validation support of funds for employee travel; assist in writing complex technical and non-technical correspondence and reports; researching technical data; reviewing and analyzing complex information; and interpreting directives.Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.As a part of the Federal-Wide Hiring Reform Initiative (streamlining the hiring process), the FAA is committed to eliminating the use of the Knowledge, Skills and Ability (KSA) narratives from the initial application in the hiring process for all announcements.
