This position is located in the Maintenance Division at Stones River National Battlefield in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work for approximately 11.5 months per year, and you will be in a non-pay status in January.

Duties

Utilize a variety of materials, tools, and equipment associated with the repair and maintenance of structures and grounds. Perform landscape management tasks including mowing and string trimming. Perform minor carpentry repairs of limited difficulty to buildings and quarters. Construct, install, repair and replace such items as doors, shelves, supply racks, hardware, frame structures, windows, trim and cabinets. Perform routine maintenance at different sites and visitor facilities, to include cleaning restrooms, and making minor repairs as needed. Perform minor plumbing repairs of limited difficulty such as tightening or replacing in-kind fittings and fixtures. May perform other duties such as painting, masonry work, roofing, welding, or assisting higher grade workers with maintenance of utility systems in the facility. Operate a light truck to pick up supplies and to transport materials to and from work sites.
