Duties

Supports activities and services of the athletics and intramural sports program. Provides oversight of events and tournaments. Maintains cleanliness and organization of athletic facilities. Ensures adherence to regulations and safety procedures. Monitors condition of, cleans, and performs minor maintenance on athletics equipment. Assists in setting up for special events and sports tournaments. Assists with publicity of events and tournaments and the delivery and placement of posters, flyers, and other promotional material. Provides outstanding customer service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.

Requirements

• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
• Must obtain and maintain a nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED within one year of employment.
• Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
• Must be able to endure physical demands beyond normal requirements including prolonged standing and walking, and must be able to work in settings where exposure to moderate discomforts may exist.
• Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, to include working nights, weekends, holidays and special events.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 1. Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position. 2. Must be able to obtain a nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED Highly Preferred Qualifications: 1. One year of full-time work experience in the sports and fitness industry. 2. Current nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED. To be rated Highly Preferred you must meet all minimum and highly preferred qualifications.
