About the Position: This position is located at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso, Texas in the Department of Logistics supporting Linen Management
Duties
Load cargo properly onto the vehicle by using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or handcarts.
Report to supervisor on status and progress of assignments and causes for delays.
Ensure necessary equipment, supplies, and materials are available to complete the work.
Drive GSA non-Tactical vehicle to pick-up and deliver supplies and equipment to the clinics.
Monitor requisitions of supplies to ensure financial restrictions are not exceeded.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required. Frequent handling of objects weighing 20 pounds and occasional handling of objects weighing over 50 pounds while loading and unloading vehicles.
- Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
- Employee may be exposed to soiled linen which may carry an unpleasant odor and can potentially cause the employee to come in contact with infectious matter and sharp objects such as scalpels, blades and needles.
- This position requires a seasonal influenza vaccination.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Motor Vehicle Operator Leader ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform duties such as leading 3 or more workers to accomplish the daily operations of linen inventory exchange. I can operate a gasoline driven vehicle equipped with a manual transmission and the capability of carrying loads of up to 5 tons, loading and unloading vehicles using hand equipment, by hand or conveyor. operate a forklift capable of lifting 6,000 pounds to move supplies and performing operator maintenance duties on vehicle and maintain vehicle log forms.

Physical Effort: Drivers Moderate physical effort is used in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls and turn vehicles of this weight and size class. Physical effort is required in the frequent handling of objects weighing over 50 pounds while loading and unloading vehicle.
Working Conditions: The operator is required to work outside and is occasionally exposed to bad weather conditions while loading and unloading vehicles. Operates the vehicle in all types of traffic and weather and is exposed to the possibility of serious accidents. The operator is subject to cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or when loading and unloading vehicles.
