THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AERIAL REFUELING TECHNICIAN (INSTRUCTOR) TITLE 32 PERMANENT, Position Description Number D2298000 and is part of the 157th Operations Group, New Hampshire National Guard. This vacancy is to gather applications that may or may not result in a referral or selection.

Duties

This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. The primary purpose of this position is to provide ground and flight training instruction for developing, upgrading, and evaluating the skills of aerial refueling aircrew members; as the sole enlisted aircrew member performs aerial refueling technician duties on assigned missions; and assists the pilot in the operation of the aircraft by performing duties associated with loadmaster, flight engineer and navigator positions. The purpose of this position is to perform in-flight refueling aircrew functions and activities according to flight manuals, checklists, and Unites States Air Force publications. Configurations vary between Boom, Drogue, and MPRS refueling.

Requirements

  • National Guard Membership is required. This is a Title 32 excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Must have completed 1A0X1 Technical Training
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade/rank listed in this announcement.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Qualifications

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Grades: E-3 - E-8 Selectee(s) must be within the military grade(s) listed in this job announcement prior to the effective date of placement into the technician position. Applicant(s) (Enlisted) who are over grade must clearly state, in their resumes, their intentions to willingly take a reduction in grade. Compatible Military Assignments: 1A1X2G GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience which has provided a general knowledge of aircraft fuel, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have the specialized experience requirements, depending on the necessary requirements for your current airframe and the required certificates as specified by the appropriate Air and Army Regulation. Specific MOS/AFSC's may be included when essential for successful performance of the position. Periodically, as prescribed by regulations, must take and pass written and in flight standardization/evaluation examinations to include random no notice evaluations. NOTE: If not already qualified at the Instructor level (GS-10), the selected candidate may be eligible for upward mobility to GS-10 after successful completion of an Individual Development Plan (IDP). Coordination with Human Resource Development (HRD) by Supervisor, at the time of hire, is mandatory to begin training plan and meeting all requirements set forth by HRD before the appointment is upgraded.
