Duties

DUTY 1: Plans, organizes, and directs Geospatial Information and Services (GI&S) activities for AMC. Principal advisor to AMC staff and operational units for the long-range planning, acquisition, and exploitation of GEOINT data to support contingency plans, exercises, training, and system development. DUTY 2: Defines, develops, evaluates, validates, defends, and monitors Command's GEOINT requirements. Reviews a full range of documents and provides comments to ensure requirements are adequately addressed. DUTY 3: Provides qualitative and quantitative assessments of geospatial products, services, processes, and architectures. Leads Command review of a wide variety of product specifications, standards, processes, and architectures relative to GEOINT requirements. Gathers, consolidates, and deconflicts command-wide inputs. DUTY 4: Presents AMC's GI&S needs at top-level review committees, private contractors, outside intelligence agencies, and a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains extensivecontacts and effective working relationships within the Intelligence Community (IC), Air Force, DoD, and Joint Service organizations.

Qualifications

This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of GEOINT to include regulations, policies, practices, and procedures covering geospatial data acquisition and applications; and geospatial data processes, products, and applications; National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) capabilities and processes; and user applications of geospatial data. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of GEOINT to include regulations, policies, practices, and procedures covering geospatial data acquisition and applications; and geospatial data processes, products, and applications; National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) capabilities and processes; and user applications of geospatial data. 2. Knowledge of IC policies, entities, missions, resources, operations, capabilities, databases, and requirements to perform intelligence research and operations planning, collection target analysis, and/or other intelligence-related activities. 3. Knowledge of the interplay of geographical, political, military, economic, and industrial forces worldwide, as well as foreign intelligence threat entities, operations, and capabilities that may be directed against USAF, DoD, and US resources. 4. Skill in program management responsibilities and ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures. 5. Ability to organize and lead study teams and originate new ideas, projects, studies, and methodologies. 6. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to present issues and recommendations, maintain good working relationships, and work cooperatively as a member of a team or team leader. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: 1. Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. 2. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. The incumbent must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. 3. Incumbent is required to protect classified information and materials in accordance with applicable USAF and national agency security directives, and personal data controlled by the Privacy Act of 1974 must be safeguarded appropriately. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
