About the position: This position is located at the Crested Butte Child Development Center. This position is regular part-time with eligibility of Medical, Dental, 401K, Life Insurance and retirement.

Requirements
- This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
- This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
- This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
- This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Must have experience in and knowledge of food preparation principles and characteristics of food, and of planning processes to ensure entire meals are prepared and cooked on time. Must be able to perform yield testing to determine portion cost and to adjust ingredients in standardized recipes. Must have knowledge of procedures to order, issue and store food. Must have experience in and knowledge of food preparation/cooking, food preparation principles, menu planning, and USDA food guidelines/requirements. Must be able to determine the amount of food to be cooked/prepared for each meal based on number of children and staff according to Air Force and USDA guidelines. Experience and knowledge must have been gained in a frill, snack bar, restaurant, club, or similar food activity. Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pound and occasionally over 40 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training. Must be able to satisfactorily complete installation, state, and National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background checks. Must meet specific physical requirements, pass a physical examination, and have required immunizations. Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Must be 18 years of age. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
