Duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Operations Command (SpOC) at Schriever Space Force Base is searching for an Electrical Engineer, Requirements Sections (GS-0850-12). Description: We are seeking an exceptional Electrical Engineer to join our CE Operations Flight. As an integral part of our Air Force Civil Engineer Squadron, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary crafts to design, develop, and implement electrical systems and solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles coupled with practical field experience. You should be proficient in identifying problems/requirements, completing design reviews, and able to develop and execute large project contracts. Creativity, problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment are essential.The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Electrical engineering experience, field experience and Air Force Civil Engineer Squadron experience is highly desired. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Professional knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices and familiarity with architectural and other engineering disciplines. 2. Knowledge of a broad range of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices, and techniques, materials, and equipment to determine compliance with federal, state, and local codes and regulations; of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures as it relates to facilities engineering; knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and/or technical orders; of environmental principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and current legislative issues; of work classifications and the regulatory and statutory restrictions on the expenditures of appropriated and non-appropriated funds. 3. Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and economic usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions; and knowledge of program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control and budget systems and management. 4. Knowledge of aesthetic and functional design techniques and skill in preparing project documentation, to include preliminary drawings, sketches, and construction drawings; and technique / skill in drafting sufficient to convey design concepts and ideas and formulate working drawings. 5. Ability to plan, conduct and record site/facilities surveys and inspection; to analyze, interpret, and apply results, rules, regulations, and procedures in a variety of situations and recommend timely and economical solutions. 6. Ability to plan and organize work and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects; and communicate effectively both orally and in writing and maintain good working relationships. Requirements: 1. This position is eligible for telework, 2-4 days per pay period. 2. Must be a U.S. citizen. 3. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and commercial aircraft. 4. The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position. 5. May act as project liaison with the Army Corps of Engineers or other design agencies as required. 6. May be required to serve on A&E selection boards. 7. The employee must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position. The selectee will have up to 24 months to meet the applicable mandatory experience, education, and training requirements. 8. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. 9. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. Incumbent of this position is subject to the possibility of a random drug test. 10. PCS and incentives are not available. 11. Please limit resumes to a maximum of 5 pages. 12.
