About the Position: Serves as the Patient Administration Specialist in support of the Army Records Processing Center(ARPC) under the direction of the Patient Administration Division, Readiness and Health Integration Directorate, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7 (Plans, Operations and Clinical Operations),Headquarters Medical Command (HQ, MEDCOM), and Office of The Surgeon General (OTSG).

Duties

Incumbent performs Service Treatment Record administrative duties for the organization. Is the System Specialist/Technician to assess PAD related systems and software in support of Army Records Processing Center daily operational tasks. Performs a variety of internal audit assignments of medium complexity that require ingenuity in applying conventional and advanced techniques. Explains the purpose and procedures for audits and answers questions. Serves as an Alternate Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for the extensive Army Records Processing Center scanning service contract.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes; develops and implements plans, actions, systems, procedures, guidelines, training requirements, and other processes necessary to provide efficient administrative management and operation of medical records processing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: health care administration, business administration, public health or a related field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Organizational AwarenessTeaches Others Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
