About the Position: This position serves as a Motor Vehicle Operator for the Fires Center of Excellence (FCOE) 434th Field Artillery Brigade at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Duties

Perform vehicle operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels. Maintain records and document actions, such as operator inspection checklists/forms and accident/incident reports. Operate vehicles and associated equipment in accordance with established procedures and local regulations. Ensure loaded cargo is properly distributed, secured and material transported matches listed materials on documentation. Safely transport cargo and/or passengers to designated sites. Maintain adequate communication with appropriate personnel on assignments.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • Successful completion of a pre-appointment physical exam is required.
  • Successful completion of an annual physical exam is required.
  • Position is subject to random drug testing IAW AR600-85.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Motor Vehicle Operator without more than normal supervision. which includes: operating multiple types of vehicles such as stake bed trucks (up to 5 ton class), refrigerated vehicles, tactical and non-tactical wheeled automotive vehicles; unloading and loading cargo to prevent damage during transit; performing minor maintenance on vehicle; operating vehicles in all types of traffic and weather conditions; and inspecting cargo to ensure materials match required documentation. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Working Conditions: Incumbent operates vehicle from enclosed cab, but drives in all types of traffic and weather conditions and is exposed to the possibility of serious accidents. Operator is subject to cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving.
