This position serves as the Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist (Chief Supply Chain Officer) responsible for the development and integration of a supply chain that ensures the logistical requirement of the VA Health Care Systems and supported catchment areas are met.

Duties

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Oversees, guides, manages and integrates supply chain operations across the organization; Plans and coordinates fiscal, acquisition, clinical and administrative operations; Establishes, monitors and manages the performance and measurement of logistics functions for all aspects of the supply chain; Conducts logistics audits, compliance reviews and program effectiveness/efficiency reviews; Manages all activities involved in the supply chain management to include sourcing, procurement and logistics management activities; Responsible for linking major business functions and processes within the organization into a cohesive and high performing business model; Forecast planning and budget execution for supplies, subsistence, durable medical equipment, medical gases, expendable/non-expendable and capital equipment, inventory management, warehouse operations, transportation and distribution; Leads and/or participates in regular meetings, ensuring logistics needs and requirements are being met; Performs other related duties as assigned. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/22/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-14 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
