Duties

Serve as a construction control representative, responsible for maintaining surveillance over all types of construction projects except Military Construction, Army (MCA) Projects. Exercise surveillance to assure that contractor is conducting quality control operations to produce work in conformance with plans and specifications. These projects may be multi-discipline and routine or complex in nature involving one or more work sites. Utilize a practical knowledge of engineering disciplines, methods and techniques, construction practices, materials, cost and equipment. Review plans and specifications to determine changes required because of conflicting field conditions and to recommend design changes where conditions warrant. Assist in the preparation of sketches of design changes and estimates of cost for modifications to contracts; assists preparation of take-offs of materials and equipment, estimates of number and types of labor classifications, etc. Maintain a daily record on items of work inspected and work instructions, received or issued.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• This position has a requirement to lift up to 15 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
• This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
• Must possess or have the ability to possess certification as Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
