Salary: $24 - 28 per hour

About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.

Duties

Research manufacturers catalogs according to mission requirements. Identify complex items components parts according to established guidelines. Maneuver forklift equipment within confined areas in close proximity to structures according to regulations. Identify hazardous materials according to Army procedures. Monitor supply operations to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a Forklift Operator Certification.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.

I can serve as a Work Leader with the responsibility for overseeing, managing, and providing functional guidance to a group of three or more civilian personnel employed in the following positions: Materials Examiner and Identifiers; Motor Vehicle Operators; Materials Handlers (FLO); and Forklift Operator. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading)Ability to Lead or SuperviseDexterity and SafetyKnowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic)Work Practices (Including Keeping Things Neat, Clean, and in Order) Physical Effort: Must be physically fit, normal use of both arms and legs. Position requires frequent standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, and working in uncomfortable positions and conditions. Physical handling of materials is routine. May be required to lift or carry items that weigh up to 40 pounds, shifting/relocating heavier items using appropriate material handling equipment. Some sedentary work is involved. Working Conditions: Working conditions may be hazardous and disagreeable and may involve exposure to materials with characteristics such as toxicity and irritation. Must wear personal protective equipment as required and is subject to cuts, scrapes, and bruises. Works indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
