You will serve as a INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Repair Department, of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.
Duties
You will lead process improvements, providing training/process engineering services for operations such as maintenance, repair, overhaul, conversion, and manufacturing.
You will process and perform improvement services for improving administrative and production work practices and procedures affecting operations
You will prepare for, run, and follow through in a process improvement workshop or project.
You will formulate recommendations for specific actions that can be taken to identify and correct problem areas and optimize organizational performance.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
FOR GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-10) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing process and performance improvement services for administrative and production work practices and procedures by analyzing and evaluating processes, identifying problems, root causes, and developing recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Shipyard operations.
FOR GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying industrial engineering techniques to provide technical direction in the analysis and evaluation of process improvement initiatives (e.g. use of Lean Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints) to develop recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Shipyard operations.
