About the position: This position will be assigned to the Child Development Center 3 on Travis Air Force Base, CA. Physical Effort: Lift and carry 50 pounds. Duties

Performs a variety of simple cooking duties, from periodic/semi-repetitive menus prepared by the Child Development Center/Youth Activities Center Manager. Provides a list of weekly food items to supervisor for ordering. Takes delivery on bread and milk and reorders as necessary. Maintains all kitchen areas in clean and sanitary manner. Receives general cooking assignments from supervisor and normally performs daily cooking tasks with considerable independence. Works alone or with part-time helper; prepares Infant/toddler servings early and takes to room. Prior to serving other child care rooms. takes dishes, utensils, cups, milk, and dessert to rooms; places meals on serving cart and wheels to rooms; places main dish and vegetable on plate, for serving to children by child care-ro.om attendants. May assist with serving and pickup of dirty dishes, if time permits. As dirty dishes are returned from rooms, washes/sterilizes dishes. Also washes pots and pans used earlier in day for cooking. Places unused/leftover food items in refrigerator, with label and dated; opens containers/packages of cookies, sandwich meats, catsup, chocolate syrup, etc. are placed in refrigerator or container with wax paper, foil, paper towels, detergents etc., are returned to proper storage locations after uses. As food items are delivered, places in proper type and location of designated storage, i.e., pantry shelf, freezer, refrigerator, air-tight container, etc. Empties trash containers cabinets, exhaust ventilator hood/screen, etc. Oversees work of 1-2 Food Service Workers and reports performance to CDC/Youth Acitvity Center manager. Requirements

• This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and one every three years thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain current record of immunization.
