Duties

You will prepare studies and report on the impact of construction, maintenance and military operations on wetlands. You will participate in the planning, design and inspection of military construction projects to ensure compliance with wetland laws, regulations and policies. You will design and coordinate the construction of wetland mitigation, restoration or enhancement projects. You will prepare Environmental Assessments and other documentation for compliance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements. You will coordinate rare plant inventories and recommend management practices to ensure compliance with Endangered Species Act requirements. You will conduct studies and analyze data on natural resource projects (e.g., wildlife survey/census, endangered species surveys, prescribed burning of forest land).

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing environmental planning and analysis for ecological land use, earth and water resources; reviewing and coordinating National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation; and ensuring environmental conservation requirements are met. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess.

1. Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

OR

2. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or a related discipline appropriate to this position.

OR

Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or a related discipline appropriate to this position.

OR

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
