Incumbent transports patients/Dom member to all outings requiring the use of motor coach. Loads and unloads wheelchair passengers using an electric wheelchair lift. Assists passengers with special needs on and off motor coach. Incumbent operates buses, sedans, station wagons, ambulance, passenger vans and pickup trucks.
Duties
Operates sedans, coach bus, minivans, vans, pickup and minibuses with up to 45 passengers safely and skillfully.
Exhibits work independence and initiative.
Uses proper defensive driving techniques.
Perform work with dexterity and safety.
Recognizes developing maintenance problems when conducting inspections.
Ability to do the work of a motor vehicle operator without more than normal supervision.
Works outside in all kinds of weather. Works inside and outside in areas that may be dusty, drafty and noisy.
Properly shows job responsibilities and makes decisions.
Perform minor maintenance on vehicles, checking and adding fluids as needed.
Properly performs minor maintenance to buses and other motor vehicles, maintaining buses and other motor vehicles in neat and clean manner.
Knowledge of state and local safe driving rules and regulations.
Ability to work without more than normal supervision.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm

EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards.
Drivers License: CDL License Class B with Passenger Endorsement

Physical Requirements: Incumbent exerts light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Exerts moderate physical efforts in the frequent handling of passengers when loading and unloading. Incumbent exerts considerably physical effort to change tires and make emergency repairs, such as installing an emergency fan belt or replace an electric fuse on open highways.
Working Conditions: Incumbent is exposed to dirt and fumes and to the possibility of cuts, bruises, broken bones or even loss of a life as a result of accidents while driving. Operates motor coach vehicles in all types of traffic and weather. They drive in heavy traffic and at highway speeds over complicated road and interchange systems. Incumbent required to work outside and is occasionally exposed to bad weather conditions.
