About the Position: This position is located in Harford, Maryland and will report to Aberdeen Proving Ground.

Duties
Directs equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair programs within the IHD which may require deviation from standard
methods, techniques and established policies.
Functions as an independent project officer, responsible for the continuous monitoring of the Industrial Hygiene Division (IHD) Health Hazards Information Module (HHIM) database
Select and prioritizing work sites for evaluation/monitoring, from current priority action code (PAC) 1 and 2 listings, as well as work sites
designated as noise hazardous or requiring the use of respiratory protection.
Provides technical input and assist in developing an Industrial Hygiene Implementation Plan (IHIP).
Coordinate of logistical and technical support schedule identified inventory and sampling by priority into the month or quarter they will be
accomplished.
Independently prepares and collects sampling and inventory information for uploading in the Health Hazards Information Module (HHIM), a
standardized industrial hygiene computerized data system.
Assists and makes recommendations to the Chief, Industrial Hygiene Division (IHD) for courses of instruction in Industrial Hygiene (IH) sampling and monitoring procedures or equipment which would benefit the development of junior personnel.
Prepares and gives technical instruction in specific or general areas of industrial hygiene instrumentation to Industrial Hygiene Division (IHD) and other personnel as
required.
Operates a motor vehicle to transport samples and equipment and assists in industrial hygiene inspection throughout the installation.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 1 security investigation or access for
the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience calibrating equipment, preventive maintenance, and repairs; monitoring equipment performance records; interpreting occupational health regulations, concepts, principles, policies, and practices; and transporting samples, equipment and assisting with industrial hygiene inspections. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
