This position is part of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.

Duties

• Examine, process, research, and approve contractor invoices. • Determine the propriety of invoices. • Resolve invoice and claim payment-related problems. • Checks expenditures are legal and in accordance with properly issued contracts.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is Required.
  • Selectee must pass preemployment requirements prior to appointment.
  • Males born after 12/03/59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
  • Selectee must undergo a background investigations for a Public Trust.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Voucher Examiner, PG -0540-6, you must meet the following requirements: To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (PG-5) in the Federal Service or in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization or equivalent. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves: 1) Examine all claims and invoices to ensure necessary processing information is present. 2) Enter payment information into a computerized payment processing system. 3) Review policy, guidelines and regulations to determine the specific provisions that are applicable to each claim submission. 4) Determine the adequacy of invoices and the amount to be paid. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement(03/19/2024) to be considered.

Education

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
