You will serve as a STATISTICIAN in the Navy Drug and Alcohol Deterrence Branch of NAVY CULTURE AND FORCE RESILIENCE OFFICE.
Duties
You will analyze data to assess multiple program alternatives.
You will develop tactical plans to meet long-term goals.
You will convey project task accomplishments via written reports provided to leadership.
You will compile statistical data to identify trends, issues, or decision points.
You will advise organizational leadership in the development of solutions to technical issues.
You will devise flexible and creative methods to capturing data and analysis.
You will serve as a technical expert with respect to all phases of statistical interpretation.

- Work is sedentary in nature. Some walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items are required. Public speaking is frequently required.
- Stress associated with coordinating efforts to the schedule of others and the constant demand for task completion within short timeframes is a significant factor. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
- The incumbent works in an adequately lighted and ventilated office environment. Occasional travel may be required. The use of conference size and larger rooms for presentations and group classes will also be required.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Writes and presents technical papers or reports on statistical analysis, studies, or surveys; 2) Applies advanced statistical techniques to design, data analysis, sampling, forecasting, quality control, or operations research; 3) Provides technical expertise to support statistical analyses and methods; and 4) Applies statistical techniques such as measurement of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, sampling error, simple and multiple correlation, variance analysis, and significance tests.

I have successfully completed a degree that included 15 semester hours in statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours in one or more of the following: physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc. Credit toward meeting statistical course requirements should be given for courses in which 50 percent of the course content appears to be statistical methods, e.g., courses that included studies in research methods in psychology or economics such as tests and measurements or business cycles, or courses in methods of processing mass statistical data such as tabulating methods or electronic data processing.

I have a combination of education and experience with courses as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The experience should have included a full range of professional statistical work such as (a) sampling, (b) collecting, computing, and analyzing statistical data, and (c) applying statistical techniques such as measurement of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, sampling error, simple and multiple correlation, analysis of variance, and tests of significance.
