This position is located at the Golf Course Maintenance Branch, A.C. Read Golf Course, Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department, Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Fl. The purpose of the position is to provide for and upkeep of the A.C. Read course and surrounding grounds.

Duties

Operates powered triplex mowers in the maintenance of tees, greens, and slopes. Operates riding rotary mowers, chain saws, sod cutters, vertical cutters, sweepers, and other specialty equipment having less than 20 h.p. engines. Occasionally drives 2-ton dump truck. Performs all 04 level works competently, without supervision.

Requirements

• Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
• Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
• You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
• Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
• A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
• Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.

Qualifications

Incumbent must be able to utilize edges, trimmers, sand raking machines, hand mowers and other tools used on the course. Must be able to lay sod, aerate lawns, prune and trim trees and shrubs. Must be capable of lifting heavy loads. Must be able to follow simple instructions. Understands course set-up philosophy and has acquired skills of an experienced Greenskeeper 04. Must have basic motor vehicle operator skills and license. Must be able to communicate orally and in writing and follow instructions without constant supervision
