You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Exercise Logistic Coordination Center of MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CTR. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will plan and program all of the projects requiring authorization and/or funding by higher headquarters. You will ensure facilities are adequate to meet the needs of the mission; including submitting and monitoring the status of work requests required for maintenance or upgrade of Camp Wilson facilities. You will coordinate with local organizations and their agencies for the achievement of maximum utilization of resources to more closely meet the requirements of the ELCC and Camp Wilson. You will compile all projects into appropriate program categories and recommend priorities for accomplishment. You will analyze the missions, tasks, and goals of Camp Wilson in order to support service level/and other levels of directed training and translate them into facility requirements.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing knowledge of a wide range of technical engineering methods, principles, requirements, work techniques, and practices of an area of specialization, and skill in applying standardized, analytical, and evaluative methods and techniques; 2) Advising on and/or resolving difficult but well-precedented, factual, procedural, and/or recurring issues; 3) Performing installation, maintenance, operation, and testing duties.
