About the position: This position will be assigned to the Pittsburgh Air Reserve Base, Pennsylvania. The position is a flexible position, which means you are not eligible for benefits and are not guaranteed hours every week but can work up to 40 hrs. Employees will be eligible for the use of the fitness center, lodging, and other activities. Position requires working irregular schedules, to include weekends, holidays, and all shifts.

Duties

Uses double entry bookkeeping techniques to ensure proper cash handling accountability. Troubleshoots routine actions by verifying audit trails and corrects errors. Searches for substantive solutions and recognizes unique and unusual trends or other problems in cash handling. Collects each activities cash receipts, cash register tapes, checks, credit cards, token coupons and other supporting documents. Performs reconciliation, balancing and auditing of receipts. Ensures the proper accounting for charge cards and sales receipts and ensures they are included within the daily cashier's report. Prepares all accounting documents and forwards to HQARF/A1S Accounting Office. Prepares cash reports and notifies supervisor of any suspected irregularities. Ensures that all money is accounted for by balancing with posting of funds turned in by activities before actual bank deposit. Prepares consolidates bank deposits and ensures daily deposits in local financial institution. Prepares and issues change from funds as required, maintains control logs, keys,etc that provide access to cash safe and documents, ensures that cash and items are always kept in designated safe that applicable security measures are exercised. Maintains fund handling book to include updating operating instructions, robbery procedures and controlling of cash assets. Conducts orientation for all new employees on insurance benefits, health and life insurance, 401K and other programs applicable to NAF employees. Ensures all necessary paperwork for new employees are completed accurately and timely and submitted to HQAFRC/A1 HRO within 3 days after entrance on duty. Ensures all required security clearances are requested completed and forwarded timely to the designated official. Provides guidance to supervisors and employees on such matters as pay actions, benefits and other personnel actions. Ensures all HRO guidance is kept updates and distributes to activity manages as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: Progressively responsible for clerical work which includes demonstrated ability to perform common arithmetic problems and to make change when receiving payment from customers . Experience is clerical duties in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit custody, or other processing of cash items when this includes (1) direct handling of cash items and (2) use of cash accountability control methods. A working knowledge of a 10 key calculator is desirable. Must have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Education
