You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the Security Office, Naval Oceanographic Office of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.

Duties

You will provide support to the Security Manager for coordinating visitor clearances, incoming and out going visit request, and ID card management. You will use a variety of office automation hardware/software to prepare correspondence, reports, graphs, charts, and presentations. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Spreadsheet, PowerPoint, and Access required. You will ensure all security issues, visit requests, clearances and documentation by following classified material handling policy (through TOP SECRET). You will maintain an accurate visitor's database that is accessible to the receptionist, Security Specialists and Security Manager. You will be responsible to the Security Manager for issuing and inventorying the Property Pass Form. Prepares the DD577s and ensures proper signatures, for the personnel authorized by the Security Manager to sign Property Passes.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • May be required to be able to lift boxes weighing up to 44 lbs and pulling or pushing a cart up to 176 lbs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • May be required to wear hearing protection and dust filtration mask.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Coordinating visitor clearances, incoming and outgoing visit request and ID card management Interact effectively with people of all levels, both within and external to the organization Interpret confidentiality requirements related to classified and sensitive personal information as well as procedures Referring visitors and phone calls to appropriate specialist. Assist Physical Security Specialist in preparation or re-programming of Access Control System card/badges.
