You will serve as a PARALEGAL SPECIALIST in the RLSO SOUTHWEST SAN DIEGO CA.

Duties

You will analyze and evaluate case files against case litigation worthiness standards; note and correct case file deficiencies before sending the case on to the concerned trial attorney.. You will prepare forms, standard legal documents, and routine correspondence. You will prepare cases in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, precedents, policies, office practices and established procedures. You will deliver formal or informal presentation/training regarding legal or administrative procedures to appropriate audiences. You will maintain reference library of substantive motions, briefs, voir dire questions, and other trial-related documents.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications

GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Identifying and analyzing problems, weighing relevance and accuracy of information, seeking, generating, and evaluating alternative perspectives/solutions, and making timely/effective recommendations, based on potential implications of findings or conclusions; 2) Evaluating and identifying the causes of problems, and choosing the courses of action that balance the interests of the mission and stakeholders; 3) Selecting, acquiring, storing, or distributing an organization's resources in the most efficient way possible, resources may include materials, equipment, financial resources, inventory, human skills, production resources, or information technology (IT); 4) Preparing, receiving, reviewing, and verifying documents; maintaining office records; locating and compiling data or information from files; compiling information for reports; keeping a calendar and informing others of deadlines and other important dates GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Assisting with identifying and analyzing problems, weighing relevance and accuracy of information, seeking, generating, and evaluating alternative perspectives/solutions, and making timely/effective recommendations, based on potential implications of findings or conclusions; 2) Preparing, receiving, reviewing, and verifying documents; maintaining office records; locating and compiling data or information from files; compiling information for reports; 3) Performing clerical support work; 4) Keeping a calendar and informing others of deadlines and other important dates. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
OR
possess a master's or equivalent degree
OR
have completed two full years of graduate level education leading to such a degree
OR
possess an LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
a combination of education and experience as described above that equates to one year of experience

GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
OR
have completed one full years of graduate level education leading to a master's degree
OR
possess a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement
OR
a combination of education and experience as described above that equates to one year of experience
