Duties

Conduct daily safety checks of material handling equipment to ensure safe operation. Maintain stock of supplies, equipment, or materials to ensure availability. Perform inventory tasks determining the basis for overages, shortages, or misplaced items. Store material in assigned location in accordance with guidance/regulations considering size, type, or weight. Inspect products for quality, damage, or overall appearance. Check facility for safety hazards to prevent on-the-job accidents. Use required equipment in accordance with safety regulations. Verify incoming shipments are marked, tagged, or otherwise identified correctly. Set up storage location considering available space, turnover, and easy movement of items.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to work shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a Tier 1 (NACI) security investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent successfully complete a pre-employment physical and annual thereafter.
  • This position may require the incumbent to Travel (TDY) up to 10% of the times.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 70 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid government forklift operator’s license capable of lifting up to 10,000 pounds.

I have the ability to perform common Materials Handler (FLO) duties. I can receive, issue, store and ship various types of materials in a warehouse setting; arrange, stacks and moves pallets; using forklifts; organizing and proper storing procedures of different classes of materials. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Moderate physical effort is required to operate the hand and foot controls of the vehicles being driven. Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside in a tropical climate. The incumbent is subject to injury from falling objects and collision; and is subject to cuts and bruises, or broken bones while driving or unloading/loading vehicles.
