Duties
This position will allow you to use your expertise in managing and overseeing a critical program segment which has program office-wide or CBP-wide impact. This position starts at a salary of $139,395.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $181,216.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $181,216.00 (GS-14 Step 10).

In this Program Manager position, you will become a key member of a team of Homeland Security professionals managing the construction, deployment, and maintenance of border infrastructure and technology projects. Typical work assignments include:
Overseeing the Portfolio programs' throughout their lifecycles, to include coordination with Program Managers on the MD-102 process, Cost, Schedule, Risk
Managing the development, assignment, and execution of goals and objectives in coordination with the Portfolio Director
Overseeing Portfolio Human Capital planning and implementation
Assisting the Portfolio Director with long range planning and overseeing the financial profile and reporting
Ensuring consistency in data, messaging, and all communication to stakeholders (internal and external)
Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Managing, controlling, coordinating, and integrating major projects
Developing, revising and implementing decisions, guidance, laws, regulations, and policy
Managing and evaluating the effectiveness of department programs while planning for long and short range strategy programs
Reviewing program progress, measuring performance and taking necessary corrective steps to modify actions, products, or services to ensure compliance with policies or to provide improved results

Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP. Probationary Period: All employees new to the federal government must serve a one year probationary period during the first year of his/her initial permanent federal appointment to determine fitness for continued employment.
