Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Facilities and Asset Management (OFAM), Organizational Resources and Support Division, Emergency Management Readiness Logistics and Support Branch, Mission Assurance Office, located either in Indianapolis, IN or Aliso Viejo, CA.

Duties
Join the Office of Facilities and Asset Management team to provide expert advice and services on planning, developing and implementing incident management programs for OFAM within CBP. This position starts at a salary of $86,962.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $134,435.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $134,435 (GS-13 Step 10).
Duties of this position will include but not limited to:
Leading complex projects, defining critical quality factors, process improvements on key initiatives such as preparedness and response, training, and exercises, activation and mobilization of resources, ongoing emergency and command operations, response and recovery operations, continuity planning and operations, communications, logistics, hazard risk assessment.
Supporting the Mission Assurance Officer in overseeing the synchronization, integration, and implementation of risk management activities under a mission assurance construct for assigned missions and responsibilities involving OFAM personnel.
Developing emergency functions, continuity planning for the prioritization, assessment, risk management, and monitoring of OFAM's assets necessary to execute CBP's missions.
Developing and implementing emergency management standards, regulations, practices, training, and procedures to identify, minimize, or eliminate hazards and threats.
Developing and preparing emergency management plans, procedures, risk assessments, and Emergency Preparedness/response Initiatives that comply with emergency management-related directives, regulations, policies, civil rights laws, standards, and guidance.
Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Assisting in preparing plans that outline operating procedures to be used in response to disasters or emergencies.
Developing and implementing emergency management standards, regulations and policies.
Assisting with the assessment and evaluation of emergency management processes for compliance with established directives, regulations, and laws.
Preparing plans that outline operating procedures to be used in response to disasters or emergencies.
Maintaining and updating resource materials associated with emergency preparedness plans.
Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Planning, coordinating, and executing emergency management exercises.
Developing plans to ensure the capability to continue essential functions during all hazard.
Assessing, inspecting, or evaluating emergency management processes, plans, standard operating procedures, or guidance for compliance with established emergency.
Complying with and following emergency management-related directives, regulations, policies, civil rights laws, standards, and guidance.

Working for the U.S. Government as a federal civilian or as a member of the military

Probationary Period: All employees new to the federal government must serve a one year probationary period during the first year of his/her initial permanent federal appointment to determine fitness for continued employment. Current and former federal employees may be required to serve or complete a probationary period.
