Duties
As a Clinical Psychologist, you will serve in a detention facility staffed by ICE Health Services Corp, providing care for detainees in ICE Custody. You will perform the following duties:
Screens and interviews patients, and performs bio-psychological social evaluations.
Conducts therapy, monitors, approves, and documents all treatment planning.
Analyzes clinical assessments of patients by reviewing and diagnosing the appropriate modality of each patient.
Develops treatment processes and procedures for orientation of patients and evaluates overall effectiveness of therapeutic efforts and institutes changes to increase effectiveness of therapeutic efforts.
Independently plans and carries out assigned duties in accordance with generally accepted psychological theories, techniques, and professional practice standards with full professional responsibility.

- Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- You must be able to work shifts on days, evening, nights, weekends, holidays, and serve on-call as needed to meet operational needs of the facility with flexibility and adaptability to sudden changes in schedules and work requirements.
- You may be required to do frequent travel. As a clinician, the position is placed on a rotational internal TDY schedule to assist with clinical operations in the field and obtain clinical hours.
- BLS Certification: You must possess and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with either the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, all times while performing services.
- Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English fluently.

Basic Requirements: Must possess all of the following:
Degree: Clinical psychology: You must have successfully completed all the requirements for the Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. Licensure: You must possess a current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Clinical Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.(You must provide a copy with your application. Upload document type is "Professional License")
AND
Certification: You must be willing to maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare provider certification. This certification shall be maintained in a current status at all times while performing services. (You must provide a copy with your application. Upload document type is "Professional Certification").
To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service OR equivalent public or private sector experience, which must include performing the following duties:
Perform psychodiagnosis and psychotherapy at a level of professional maturity for the full range of mentally disturbed patients in psychiatric or general medical hospitals or community mental health centers;
AND
Apply psychological theories, principles to explain or justify psychological diagnoses, conclusions, findings or treatment recommendations.
