This position is located at the U.S. Mint, Philadelphia, Office of Production, within the Die Manufacturing Division. As an Industrial Specialist (Machinery), you will be responsible for providing the head of the Die Manufacturing Division with multifaceted technical advice on all aspects of the manufacturing of coinage dies.
Duties
As an Industrial Specialist (Machinery), you will:
Act as technical advisor to the Division Chief concerning manufacturing processes, equipment, operating techniques, and maintenance
Prepare divisional responses and reports to be used by U.S. Mint management and executive level
Prepare plans, specifications, and drawings for the procurement of capital equipment, supplies, and services and serves as liaison with the procurement and contract offices
Prepare solutions to problems using mathematical and engineering calculations, scientific and business theory, and technical experience
Manage stores inventory for division and projects usage frequencies and costs
Qualifications

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized experience for the GS-12 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is:
- Demonstrated Proficiency in CNC Programming; AND
- Planning and coordinating integration of new equipment installations with existing production, and equipment repair; AND
- Planning technical work and preparing schedules for completion; AND
- Establishing and maintaining working relationships with others to ensure overall goals are met; AND
- Planning and coordinating projects.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-12 you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks.
