This position is located in the Division of Administration, Corporate Services Branch, Security Enterprise Programs Section of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in security related matters.

Duties
Assist with personnel security activities and other security disciplines (i.e.: information security, industrial security, or physical security), suitability and personnel security program oversight, and security education and awareness training of personnel.
Review, evaluate and adjudicate personnel security investigations. Provides authoritative information and assistance to organization officials by advising on personnel security policies and related matters and on the impact of personnel security requirements on organizational missions.
Assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of policies and procedures for handling and safeguarding classified and sensitive material in the FDIC.
Document findings, make security recommendations or determinations, and formulate written case disposition recommendations for various actions, including approval or denial of employment suitability or retention in sensitive positions and the granting, denying, suspending or revoking of security clearances.
Prepare various technical and official administrative correspondence including Letters of Inquiry to obtain additional or clarifying information from investigative subjects, notifications of favorable suitability or national security adjudicative determinations, and notifications of clearance suspension or denial where significant adverse information has been developed and appeal rights.
Conducts personnel security briefings as required to advise personnel of the adverse effects to national security which could result from unauthorized disclosure of classified information.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 11 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience interpreting and applying personnel security policies, procedures, methods and techniques relevant to the protection of personnel and information within facilities.
