The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is April - October, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: April 21, 2024. Duties

Works under a trails maintenance leader or other higher-graded position. The position is primarily engaged in assisting in the maintenance and construction of graded and paved trails, trail drainage, trail bridges, and guard rails. Assists in the installation, repair and replacement of water diversion bars, cribbing and retainer walls. Removes windfalls, rockslides, surface outcroppings and debris from trails. Builds up tread surfaces in eroded areas. Installs stepping stones at creek crossings where bridges cannot be constructed. Safely and effectively, uses hand power tools required for the job and has the ability to maintain these tools properly. May perform other duties such as: routine painting, carpentry, janitorial, cleaning, trash pick-up, grounds keeping, digging, raking, or sweeping; assisting in transporting camp and work supplies and construction materials; removal of snow and ice from trails and roads.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT) Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment Knowledge of Materials Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair. Technical Practices (Theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring instruments Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading) If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
