You will serve as a LEAD PROTOTYPE SUPPORT SPECIALIST in the Supply Procurement Support (SPS) Branch, Acquisition Support Division (ASD), Prototyping, Instrumentation, Experimentation Department (PIE), and Digital Analytics, Infrastructure and Technology Advancement Group (DAiTA) in the of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. The duty location is Patuxent River, Maryland.

Duties

You will use Navy and Federal procurement processes and Purchase Card methods to complete procurements for materials. You will brief customers and Division Head on the status of a procurement. You will resolve issues and document findings on aircraft modification process to stimulate management or employee awareness. You will balance workload and tasks among team members based on program priorities and objectives. You will research the type of parts, suitable substitutes, address schedule, and cost concerns for aircraft installation and coordinate and communicate this information to the projects' program manager. You will communicate and provide details to industry partners and identify material that is required to perform aircraft modifications. You will address the quality requirements associated with procurement, non-conformances, corrective actions, quality standards for all products.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing engineering data packages and drawings to identify parts that need to be gathered or procured for aircraft installation; 2) Demonstrating a thorough understanding of aircraft parts, the aircraft modification process, and the procurement of aircraft items; 3) Utilizing tools, such as the government purchase card, FEDMALL, rapid acquisition contracts (RAC) and the MILSTRIP system, to procure parts; 4) Verifying funding and determining best procurement methods; and 5) Identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established work flow, skill level and/or occupational specialization.
