Duties
Develop and monitor work plans, daily workload, assignments, and priorities.
Ensure work meets established standards.
Review medical records for completeness and consistency.
Use various computer application programs to prepare, retrieve, correct, record, and document; reports, charts, spreadsheets, inventories, travel requests and travel vouchers, memoranda and correspondence.
Manage the electronic health record to register patients, update and correct patient information, locates and transfers records to other Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF).
Establish and maintain custody and control of medical records according to established policies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- This position may include shift work (evenings, weekends, holidays).
- This position may require rotating shifts (i.e. work schedule that requires employees to continuously rotate from one shift to another at predetermined intervals).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using standardized procedures for maintenance of health treatment records, reviewing health treatment records to ensure all components are present as prescribed, and compiling information that is released to military health care organizations, law offices, insurances companies, and other non-governmental agencies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
