Duties

Provide planning, architectural, and engineering services for the siting, design, and functional layout of facilities on Fort Belvoir, including large multi-story structures. Prepare fee estimates for use in budgeting for architect-engineer firms to execute planning, engineering, and design services. Review and evaluate work performed under contract for completeness and conformity with contract requirements, and makes suggestions designed to improve the product. Recommend solutions to complex planning problems related to conflicting factors of land use, development proposals, socio-economic effects, and environmental constraints. Serve as installation space manager and provide input on real property planning.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a Secret security clearance
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ArchitectureCommunicationsGeneral EngineeringProject Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
