You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (AMMUNITION) in the ORDNANCE PROGRAM of NMC CWD DET NORTH ISLAND.
Duties
You will perform quality assurance assessments and inspections (including in-process) for the complete realm of conventional Ammunition and Explosives operations.
You will develop, review, revise and submit for review and implementation Standard Inspection Procedures for the Weapons Department as assigned and in accordance with quality assurance directives.
You will ensure that inspection, inventories, processing and handling of ordnance is performed in accordance with approved procedures and in compliance with the specifications or individual test requirements.
You will research and analyze trends and make recommendations on how to improve overall management and accuracy of conventional Ammunition and Explosives material and records.
You will develop and update lesson plans for broad courses that provide trade development for civilian and military personnel in the various ordnance occupational fields.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current CDL A with HAZMAT endorsement license.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing quality assurance assessments and inspections for Ammunition and Explosives operations to detect, investigate, or analyze problems and recommend solutions to ensure compliance with rules and regulations. Experience must demonstrate a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position.
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position.
OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
