The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an extension and principal advisor to the wing criminal justice elements on criminal indexing activities. Manages and coordinates all aspects of the criminal indexing process with applicable installation entities, the Air Force Criminal Justice Information Cell and with external entities. tice Information Services Division.
Duties
Serve as installation subject matter expert on criminal booking procedures and requirements to include a comprehensive understanding of Combined DNA Index System (CODIS), National Crime Information Center (NCIC), the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Next Generation Identification (NGI), Interstate Identification Index (III) and photography booking and indexing requirements.
Engage with installation-level Commanders and First Sergeants to obtain information on issued Command Directed Inquiries (CDI) and Military Protective Orders (MPO) and evaluate to ensure expedient entry of data into NICS to prevent weapons purchases.
Serve as installation subject matter expert on Livescan Management System (LSMS). Enable and ensure LSMS system updates and software and hardware maintenance.
Prepare and package evidence for mailing/transfer to laboratories, other agencies, and other Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) units; or provide assistance to agents who perform those duties.
Responsible for managing the unit's weapons program and all AFOSI-issued firearms assigned to the unit. Enforces compliance to DoD, AF, and AFOSI weapons related policy by all assigned and attached unit personnel.

- Travel and relocation expenses will not be paid.

- May be required to travel by military or commercial air while in temporary duty status to attend conferences and meetings.
- Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- This position requires a high degree of discretion in relation to sensitive information of which the incumbent is aware.
- Employee will need to obtain Security Plus Certification (8570) and be able to maintain several networked systems ensuring software updates are accomplished and that the systems maintain their network connectivity and functionality.
- Position requires access to firearms. Must be proficient in the judicious use of firearms to AFOSI standards. Employee must sign DD Form 2760, Qualification to Possess Firearms or Ammunition.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level (or equivalent in other pay systems) in the federal service in which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience which includes providing advisory services on managing and coordinating criminal indexing activities; planning and conducting analyses of criminal cases and indexing requirements and ensuring those requirements are met; and ensuring the criminal justice indexing process is appropriately conducted by all required personnel.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and issues related to criminal indexing, investigation, criminal booking process, collection, and preservations of evidence.
2. Skill in working with computers and automated systems as well as an aptitude for computer networking.
3. Skill in applying tact and diplomacy during difficult circumstances to advise and inform organizational leadership or high-level offices on complicated, sensitive, and occasionally controversial issues.
4. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, to instruct on procedures and lead teams, prepare reports, respond to inquiries, negotiate procedures, and make presentations to management officials.
6. Ability to plan, organize, and direct functions and multiple stakeholders in order to inspire, motivate, and guide others toward goal accomplishment.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
