You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.
A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary.
Duties
You will develop and implement a comprehensive computer network defense program, including policies, procedures, and standards per industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
You will monitor and analyze security events and incidents and develop and implement effective incident response strategies and procedures.
You will conduct regular assessments of the organization's cybersecurity posture and identify areas for improvement and enhancement.
You will provide direction, oversight, and policy for all INDOPACOM HQ networks and DRU’s concerning ESS and zero-trust implementation and tuning.
You will manage budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective delivery of CND services.
You will design, develop, and manage systems that meet current and future business requirements and apply and extend, enhance, or optimize the existing architecture.
You will supervise a team of cybersecurity professionals and provide guidance and mentorship on cybersecurity best practices, tools, and techniques.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) certification Level (III).
Qualifications
I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of IT Specialist (INFOSEC) experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: 1) Developing, implementing, and managing a computer network defense program, including policies, procedures, and standards per industry best practices and regulatory requirements; 2) Monitoring network and enclave traffic within a DoD environment; 3) Demonstrating experience utilizing Comply-to-Connect (C2C), Zero-Trust, and Incident Response; 4) Must have a working knowledge of SPLUNK, SYSLOG, Security Information and Event Management (SEIM), Endpoint Security Solution (ESS), ForeScout, Firewalls, and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
