Duties
As a SUPERVISORY HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) GS-0201-12 (TITLE 5) you will, exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Manage, direct and execute wide spectrum of force support operations (Personnel, Base Education & Training, Family Readiness, Installation Personnel Readiness, and Base Services) for wing customers which requires the development of policies and procedures unique to each command in an environment of constantly changing priorities and missions. Conduct analysis to determine the effectiveness of operations, compliance with established policies and procedures, reliability of transactions and validity of supporting documentation. Implement the organization's self-inspection program; reviews formal inspection reports, audits, complaints, and other reports to ensure adverse findings are addressed/corrected within the allotted time frame. Participate in formal and informal management planning, policy and decision-making sessions. Participates in conferences, workshops and other meetings with key personnel concerning Force Support matters involving the changing of mission requirements, new laws and/or directives.

- Position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this positions.

- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- May be required to work other than normal duty hours; comp-time and/or overtime may be required.
- Work may potentially require the employee to be exposed to search and recovery operations indirect response to a military mishap or when providing support to Civil Authorities during an Incident Response as part of domestic operations.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.
- This designation will not exceed 14calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
- For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver’s license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
- Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
- Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience with administrative positions that manage, supervise, administer, advise on, or deliver human resources management products or services.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at lease 1 year at the next lower GS level or 18 months specialized experience of an administrative nature, which involves the exercise of analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and personal responsibility, and application of a substantial body of knowledge of principles, concepts, and practices applicable to one or more fields of administration or management. Experience planning, directing, and administering force support programs for wing military personnel and associate units. This position requires knowledge of the basic concepts, principles, and theories of military human resources management and the ability to adapt these to meet mission requirements of the state.
