This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U. S. Coast Guard Base Cape Cod, Buzzards Bay, MA.
Duties
This role supports the Health Safety Division and Clinic by performing clerical, administrative and record keeping support.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.Typical work assignments include:- Interacting with staff member, patients and customers to provide guidance and assistance.- Accepting, maintaining and filing patient’s health records and handling in accordance with regulations and patient privacy rules.- Answering routine medical, personnel and administrative inquiries.- Utilizing Microsoft Outlook or other electronic health record database to maintain all providers’ appointment schedules.- Maintaining administrative reports and records.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
- Annual seasonal influenza vaccination required.
- You must be able to type 40 wpm.
Qualifications
Qualifications for GS-05: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 level.
Specialized work experience includes experience in a medical environment which includes experience with facility services and medical terminology and procedures in order to record and report test results accurately; Experience with medical patient administration, medical records activity including assembly, recording test results and relaying information regarding patient's condition; Scheduling medical appointments and resolving scheduling conflicts and concerns.or4 years of education above high school Education and experience may be combined to meet experience requirements. You must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.
