THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER, Position Description Number PDD1255000 and is part of the WY Field Maintenance Shop 2, Wyoming Army National Guard.

Duties

The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance production management, to achieve or maintain desired production levels, to serve as an equipment readiness expert for units supported by the facility, and to provide technical guidance and oversight to a lower-graded Production Controller. (1) Establishes plans and schedules for maintenance and repair, using multiple process production methods and procedures for a variety of vehicles and equipment such as combat vehicles, heavy-duty engineering and mobile equipment, tracked vehicles, towed and self-propelled artillery, communications and electronic equipment, guided missile systems, and small arms. (2) Ensures Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTO&E) or Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) reportable Line-Item Numbers (LIN) are properly managed, reported and accounted for with respect to readiness reports, property accountability reports, and system management. (3) Programs workload, shop space, and available personnel on a short and long-term basis. (4) Ensures that unit Class 9 (CL IX) accounts are funded, budgeted, and executed to maximize readiness. (5) Designates and maintains current maintenance priorities by Force Activity Designator, pacing items, Equipment Readiness Codes (ERC) A, B, and C equipment type, available funds, commander's priority, state/national priorities (in the case of floods, fires, and mobilizations), and unit supported. ** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. **

Area 1: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ARNG employees assigned to the Field Maintenance Shop 2. Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Army National Guard. Area 4: All current M-day soldiers of the Wyoming Army National Guard. Area 6: Current military members of the US Army, Army Reserves, or other states' Army National Guard units or prior service members of one of those military branches. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Army National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Work involves planning, estimating, scheduling, and expediting the use of manpower, machines, and materials in the fabrication or repair of equipment and supply items by mechanical production methods. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must possess experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07: Must possess experience, education or training working with people from various levels and backgrounds. Experience with a general knowledge of the functions and procedures of production control, records, references, and techniques for developing production control data. Experience assisting or maintaining workflow. GS-09: Must possess experience, education or training scheduling workflow in more than one area and responsible for coordinating products or materials from support activities. Experience in performing or supervising journeyman level work in a production facility. Experience preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes. Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc. NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g., 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement. DRIVER'S LICENSE: Must possess a valid driver's license.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements for GS-4 positions. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience for GS-5 positions.
