Interviews to fill this vacancy will be conducted at the Hurlburt Field NAF Hiring Event on 13 March 2024, 9am-2pm at Eglin Golf Course 1527 Fair Way Dr. Niceville FL 32578 As a federal employee you will have access to all Hurlburt Field FSS facilities. Duties

Drives one or more types of passenger buses which carry 16 or more passengers. Drives predetermined and/or scheduled routes or special runs such as to recreation events/facilities. Reads maps and judges road/traffic conditions to determine the shortest and safest route. Provides friendly, polite, and courteous service. Enforces passenger seatbelt use. Performs operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires, cleaning and washing of vehicles and performing inspection checklists to ensure safe and proper operation. Makes sure bus is clean inside and out at the beginning and end of each trip. Assists passengers loading/unloading luggage bay, ensuring cargo is protected from theft and properly distributed/secured to prevent damage or loss in transit. Keeps supervisor informed of potential problems. Maintains records and documents actions on operator inspection checklists/forms and accident/incident reports. Uses two-way radio (or other device) to maintain communications with dispatcher/supervisor on assignments and locations. Accomplishes maintenance and safety pre-check prior to each tour to be sure that the vehicle is in optimum condition to provide safe and dependable transportation for passengers. Checks fluid, tire pressure, brakes and other checklist items before each trip, during trip and upon trip completion. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Uses and assures proper fit of required safety equipment and clothing. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Childcare Tier 1 background investigation with favorable results.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with airbrake endorsement appropriate for the size and type of vehicle operated. Must provide a current copy of driving record (within the last 90 days).
  • This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing.
  • Incumbent must maintain and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations, including annual influenza vaccinations, and be free of all communicable diseases.
  • This position has a physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience which demonstrates knowledge of and skill in operating buses capable of carrying 16 or more passengers; traffic and safety regulations, practices and procedures pertaining to motor vehicle operation (buses); and passenger safety rules. In addition, must have experience which demonstrates the ability to: communicate orally; be courteous; judge road/traffic conditions and read maps to determine the shortest and safest route; interpret instructions, specifications related to motor vehicle operation (buses); do preventive maintenance and ensure passenger safety. Requires reaching, turning or moving hands, arms, feet and legs; associated duties require stooping, bending and climbing. Lifts and carries objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical and provide proof of or obtain require immunizations. Must possess an appropriate, valid driver's license as required by local/state law. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement appropriate for the size and type of vehicle operated.Must provide a current copy of driving record (within the last 90 days). Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level), State Criminal History Records Check (SCHRC) and Installation Records Check (IRC). "This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use." You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Education
