Duties

You will operate and maintain high speed cameras and other photographic instrumentation as well as additional test preparation in support of testing at the Supersonic Naval Ordnance Research Tracks (SNORT). You will plan, set up, checkout, test operation, and process high speed camera instrumentation in support of sled and static testing at the various Track Ops test areas. You will work with and provide guidance to engineers to determine best type and location of fiducials to be employed to best meet the data requirements in the customer test plans. You will maintain photography equipment to include cleaning and performing minor repairs. You will research and develop written proposals for equipment upgrades.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current ordnance certification.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

DT-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (DT-02) pay band or (GS-5-8) grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining photography equipment to include cleaning and performing minor repairs; 2) Working with and providing guidance to engineers to determine best type and location of fiducials to meet the data requirements; 3) Planning, setting up, testing operation, and processing high speed camera instrumentation; 4) Developing camera layouts to provide the coverage required by the test plan; and 5) Communicating orally and in writing with engineers and technicians. DT-02: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (DT-01) pay band or (GS-1-4) grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting with maintaining photography equipment to include cleaning and performing minor repairs; 2) Working with engineers to determine best type and location of fiducials to meet the data requirements; and 3) Assisting with planning, setting up, testing operation, and processing high speed camera instrumentation; 4) Communicating orally and in writing with engineers and technicians. Education

The following education may be substituted for specialized experience:

DT-03
:Successfully completed two full years of graduate level education or master's degree that is directly related to the position being filled.

DT-02:Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology; or (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as engineering, engineering or industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, surveying, physical science, or mathematics. At least 6 of the 24 semester hours must have been in drafting if the position has been designated by a drafting area of specialization.
