This position is located in the Reserve Fleets, Office of Ship Operations, Office of the Deputy Associate Administrator for Federal Sealift, Office of the Associate Administrator for Strategic Sealift, Maritime Administration (MARAD). This position provides river security patrol for fleet operations.

Duties

The Rigger performs mooring maintenance, involving the placement, maintenance and replacement, as needed, of fenders, mooring wire, brows and access steps, and accommodation ladders; operating anchor windlasses, capstans or other equipment utilized in anchoring operations; as a member of a riding crew or tie up crew during ship arrivals, departures, or intra-fleet moves.

Qualifications

Qualifications for the position are based on the  training, experience, or other requirements that determine which applicants would be able to perform satisfactorily in the position to be filled. To qualify for the WG-10, your experience should include experience equal or equivalent to the following: The ability to perform rigging operations, and assist crane operations throughout the fleet and in support of other trades as required.   Your application will also be rated on the following job elements: Ability to do the work of the position.
