Duties

Serve as the Government subject matter expert (SME) responsible for the technical oversight and coordination of the DEVCOM Aviation and Missile Center human factors efforts for Aviation Systems. Collaborate with software developers and aviation experts to create and refine human machine interface systems that replicate aircraft controls and systems, facilitating a seamless transition between simulation and actual aircraft operation. Prepare clear and comprehensive documentation, reports, and presentations detailing human factors evaluations, recommendations, and design decisions. Design and execute user testing sessions, collecting valuable feedback to assess the effectiveness of interface designs and implement iterative improvements. Remain abreast of advancements in human factors engineering, simulation technology, and aviation research to integrate the latest innovations into the DEVCOM’s human factors assessment processes.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Selectee must be able to submit a OGE 450, Financial Disclosure Statement at the time of appointment and annually, thereafter.
  • Business travel is required approximately 50% of the time.

Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. In addition to meeting specialized experience, you must also meet the basic positive education requirement for this position. Therefore, you MUST submit a transcript with your application package.
