You will serve as an FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN (OA) in the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine, Office of the Associate Dean, Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) and National Capital Consortium (NCC) of UNIF SRVS UNI OF THE HLTH SCI.
Duties
You will serve as the Financial Technician responsible for performing a variety of financial and administrative work.
You will compute and analyze financial data to maintain accurate records of travel accounts and expenditures; provide technical assistance to administrative and professional personnel in the preparation and/or modification of a travel budgets.
You will perform a variety of complex transportation, mathematical and financial management duties that require extensive personal judgement and a depth of fiscal experience.
You will evaluate and analyze travel trends for recurring training associated with military and civilian travel accounting in support of 63 graduate medical education programs.
You will compute mileage cost estimates and cost comparisons using the military rate solicitation guidance and Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) policies.
You will create and maintain program travel files; request, receive, and collate Information from the training program directors; input, edit, and retrieve travel financial information on a wide variety of forms and reports.
You will manage the Purchase Card Program (e.g., make purchases, reconcile credit card billing statements, review credit cardholder monthly statements, verify and authorize payments) for timely submission, authorization, and payments.
You will complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
You will communicate in writing with management or customers to verify purchasing guidelines are followed or deadlines are met.
You will investigate and take corrective action to resolve discrepancies in price, shipments, returns, quantity, shortage, receipt, double billings, taxes and other problems that arise related to the order.
You will dispute unauthorized or invalid billings according to local procedures.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Administering financial support for a training program's travel logistics to maintain regulatory compliance for budget management, expense authorization, or comprehensive record keeping.
