About the Position: This position supports the Director for Quality, Office of the Chief at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

Duties

Assists the Supervisor with the day-to-day operations of the Medical Staff Services Office. Provides training on all credentialing and privileging processes as they relate to all Defense Health Agency (DHA), National Capital Region (NCR) policies and directives. Responsible for completing Quality Assurance Reviews of submitted nurse candidate credential packets, confirms primary source verifications are present and complete in accordance with current The Joint Commission (TJC) standards and DHA directives. Assists with development and annual review of delineated clinical privileging documents for each category of clinical provider. Serves as the liaison with the Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) to ensure compliance with all applicable due process procedures. Administers the Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE). Incumbent completes Quality Assurance review of Clinical Performance Appraisal Report's prior to submission to Medical Staff Leadership for review and signature.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• This position may require incumbent to complete a tuberculosis test.

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources, Healthcare Management or Healthcare Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
