You will serve as a in the FACILITIES MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. SALARY RANGE FOR GS-11 $72,758 - $94,583 SALARY RANGE FOR GS-12 $87,208 - $113,366

Duties

You will serve as the primary point of contact between the Public Works Officer and specific commands. You will collaborate across boundaries to build strategic relationships and achieve common goals. You will conduct facilities inspections to update the condition index (CI) to reflect actual facility conditions. You will develop Maintenance Action Plans, Maintenance Execution Plans, and Long Rang Maintenance Plans.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

FOR THE GS-12 POSITION: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conveying written information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience, using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; 2) Developing networks and building alliances; 3) Providing administrative services for the maintenance, repair, or modification of facilities; 4) Inspecting physical structures, utilities, roadways, and surrounding grounds; and 5) Planning and overseeing work performed by carpenters, electricians, utility systems operators, janitors, or others. FOR THE GS-11 POSITION: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying principles, concepts, and methods of facility administration to maintain facilities and facility equipment; 2) Working with others to verify and determine conditions and corrective solutions using tests and procedures; 3) Assisting others with establishing initial repairs and replacements in accordance with facilities and equipment principles and techniques; and 4) Recommending proper prioritization of facility and equipment requirements and initiating new projects in accordance with US Navy operational and organizational structure and overall mission. Education

Applicants for the GS-11 that do not meet the specialized experience listed above may qualify for the GS-11 with education or a combination of education and experience as follows:

You have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration.

OR

You have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration.

OR

You have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.

OR

You have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
