About the Position: This position performs various duties to expedite parts, supplies and materials into or out of shops involved with the overhaul, repair, modification, check and test, and other related rework of aircraft, their structures, components, parts, and equipment.

Duties

Receive, route, and move parts, assemblies, components, and other materials into and out of industrial shops. Dispatch materials through shops in accordance with schedules, considering priorities and sequence. Refer unresolved shortages to production controller or supervisor, recommending local purchase/manufacture. Prepare items for routing, assuring proper tagging/documentation and handling. Examine items received to verify identity, quantity, and document number, checks for discrepancies such as wrong, untagged, or damaged items.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs.

To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Working Conditions: Work is usually performed indoors in well-lighted and ventilated production shop area. Regularly exposed to possible injury associated with handling equipment and to shop noises, dirt, and fumes.
